Fluffy Bum

We had planned to start cloth diapering Graeme as soon as we got home from the hospital but his small size threw us off and we stocked up on preemie and newborn Pampers and Huggies. I do have to say, the connivence was pretty great until I saw the nasty silicone crystals all over him. At first I thought there was something wrong with him but Justin not so gently informed me that they were from the diaper. Honestly, that can't be good for a little guy. We bought some preemie sized pre-fold (old fashioned) cloth diapers and have a few of the more modern all in one diapers in the newborn size to use until he grows into the ridiculous amount of cute diapers we have collected over the last 9 months or so. They make him look like he has a pretty big bum but they work just fine. I am already realizing it is going to be a lot of work, but I think it will be worth it. And, they look really cute to boot!

Busy Weekend

Graeme had a very busy weekend; meeting his grandparents for the first time along with other family members and friends. It seemed like the house had a revolving door of visitors and he was just relishing in the attention. Along with the visitors, he had his first visit to Maryann's for breakfast and slept through the whole thing. Graeme continues to be unfazed but the attention that is being given to him. He is really content to just lay back and soak it all in. One thing is for sure, he is definitely very well loved!

Bath Time

Graeme has had a few baths since coming home, it seems to be one of the only time he cries... maybe because his first experience with water wasn't so great :) Today was the first time Graeme seemed to enjoy a bath which gave me some time to shoot some cute photo's of him in his towel. He certainly seemed pretty comfortable, so much so he thought it would be nice to poop in the towel!

Graeme makes the news

The calls started flooding in from reporters as soon as we got to the hospital as they had heard the news of Graeme's entry into the world via the police scanner. Once we got home, Justin agreed to let the newspaper and local TV station to come out to do a "feel good story". In his first 24 hours home, Graeme received a slew of media attention with his story airing on the nightly news and again on the front page of the Eagle Tribune. The newspaper did a great job at capturing the story and the photographer is going to drop off all of the pictures she took for us on a disc later this week. Not only does Graeme look exactly like his dad, it seems like he is totally unfazed by all the attention; he slept through both interviews without opening his eyes even once. Eagle Tribune WMUR

Graeme makes a "splash" into the world

If his birth is any predictor of his future behavior, we will have our hands full with this little guy. Graeme Robert Loveland was born, at home, after a very brief labor at 3pm on January 16, 2010. Justin did an amazing job of taking care of him until the paramedics arrived. He weighed in at a mere 5lbs 8oz and is 18 1/2 inches long...Grandma is out shopping for preemie clothes for him to wear home. Everyone is doing well now and we will be discharged this evening to go enjoy our little guy at home. The local newspaper reported on the story as well http://www.eagletribune.com/punewsnh/local_story_016201037.html.

We're Ready for You

Since my last appointment I have been overanalyzing every twinge, cramp, etc. I spent Sunday nesting, convincing Justin the baby was on his way but I am pretty sure given the progress at Monday's appointment, he will not be arriving any time soon. The nursery is set up, the cloth diapers and clothes are cleaned and put away, bassinet is in our room...now we just need the baby to make use of all of those things.
